Windmill Lane

This area was originally designed to safeguard children walking to either of the two schools in Windmill Lane.

The WSCC volunteers built the planters that run alongside the road to stop cars parking on the green space.
The garden now has the four sails of the windmill shaped borders which are planted with pollinator friendly plants.
We have a selection of fruit trees on the site – provided by donations, these include heritage and common apples, plum and a pear.

This garden is tended by the TAG team (originally the litter picking group who wanted to further their green aspirations for the town).

Some of Our Work

We are a group of volunteers who work on community areas within East Grinstead.

We are responsible for a community garden, an orchard, a resting stop in the town and are in the process of providing a native wildflower area near a children’s playground.
