Lingfield Road Recreation Ground

This area was originally adopted from MSDC by the Imberhorne and Baldwins Neighbourhood Panel where a garden was created for the schools to work jointly on.

Lingfield Road Recreation Ground groundwork

Beds were formed with sleepers with a central path running to the play park.

This joint venture has since fallen by the wayside so the Guides and brownies tended the area for a while, until the Pandemic.

The sleepers had become so rotten they were dangerous so the TAG team (Town Action Group) working with EGIB removed the sleepers and the ground has been levelled for the provision of a wildflower area next summer.

NB: Thanks must go to TAG and local builder Stef Hillwood for making this possible. Stef gave up his time to bring machinery to the site, remove all the sleepers, which were removed and relocated the sleepers to another site to become a habitat for insects.
